UGG x Denim Tears

When Tremaine Emory unveiled his latest Denim Tears collaboration, a two-piece capsule with Y2K favourites UGG, he described each of his creative partnerships as “a Trojan Horse”. In this collection, the redesigned footwear serves as a vehicle to ratify Black American history. Inspired by the discovery of his Black Seminole roots, Emory transforms UGG classics with indigenous-inspired beaded overlays, paying homage to both his family history and to his great-grandmother Onia, who lends her name to the designs. Both the UGG Tasman slippers and Classic boots experience the Denim Tears treatment, adopting traditional Black Seminole iconography and craftsmanship alongside UGG’s familiar chestnut-hued suede and signature sheepskin lining. The combination bestows each pair with a depth that is not immediately visible, much like the collection itself.
